watkins glen, ny

I am now in New York!!! After a long journey from TN to Atlantic City, NJ we are now in Watkins Glen, NY.

Just a side note on NJ, I love it there!! The whole state isn't a shit hole, just parts. Atlantic City has some charm and little towns nestled along the ocean that are really cute!! They are lined with gourmet markets, stores, and coffee shops. I had a blast walking around.

But back to Watkins Glen; It is so quaint and beautiful. It is a little town tucked into the mountains by lake seneca. We arrived late last night after a long day and couldn't wait to go to bed. We pull up with our RV, two trucks with trailers and a freightliner with a trailer. We have music playing on our outdoor speakers and people dancing and chatting about.

I am totally a gypsy. And I love it.

We are at the Phish show until Monday, then we have a few days off until All Good in WV. This has been one of the best summers that I have ever had.

SMOKY MOUNTAINS

Well our trip to the Great Smoky Mountains is now over. It was incredible. The mountains have this magical mist that hangs over them and it is so cool to see it. We went on a long hike yesterday, the girls were all tuckered out as well as nanny Alicia. Today we are headed towards New Jersey where our next show is. It is the Dave Matthews Band Caravan. I am so excited to stick my feet in the Atlantic Ocean.

day one of bonaroo hotel

Well we finally made it to Tennesee and now we are in Winchester, TN at a hotel. I am babysitting while the Parent's are working. There is a pool, and I have a ton of yummy snacks stocked up. Lola just came out and told me that I am not allowed to check on them while they are trying to fall asleep. When I asked her why she replied "Because we need to be trusted". I have no idea how a 3 1/2 year old knows that. Sometimes I think these little ladies are a lot smarter than they lead on sometimes.
Tennesee is so beautiful. It looks like what you would imagine from the movies. There are little country roads and nestled along them are working farm houses with animals, barns, and a white fence. Everyone here is really nice and it isn't a dry county!!! You just have to go to a special liquor store for wine and liquor and a different store for beer. Neither of them are allowed to sell mixers like soda or juice which is so strange to me. I went into a laundry mat today and there was a man drinking a tall can of MGD like I wasn't even there. I couldn't help but want one myself!!
Today was a productive, LONG day and I am ready for bed. I am excited for my pool day tommorow. I am so glad and thankful to not have to be "in the field" for this show. :)

ferris wheels are for dummies.

Today was a great day! I did some shopping and found some really great original items that I won't be able to find anywhere else. I got a dress, two shirts, feather earrings and a couple sweet bracelets. I made a yummy cold pasta salad and chocolate chip pancakes for the little ladies. I took the girls out to the craft area and they got airbrush tattoos, sno-cones and glitter wands. It was so hot that when we walked out of the RV we all immediately start sweating. I looked like I had just ran a 10K after about ten minutes in the heat.

I have successfully avoided Ferris wheels for about the last ten years. Today I decided to put on my big girl panties and ride one with the Parent's. After one spin around they stop our cart and whip out a mallet and a paper clip looking device. They hammer in a LOOSE bolt and snap in the paper clip and sent us on our merry way. Annnd this is why I stay on the ground.

sleeping with cinderella.

We are in the Ozark Mountains in Arksansas and it is hot! The music festival is set in a beautiful field called Mulberry Mountain (google it) and it is set in the middle of a beautiful forest. So far the weather is hot and sticky with a faint scent of patchouli in the air.

Yesterday, we went to a river and the Parent's went swimming. Once a large mouth bass fish was sighted I was no where near going in the water. Not even my big toe. We had to run into "town" to get some supplies and it was like going back in time. Not only was everything cheap, the people are so nice. They all say "mam" and really, truly just want to help out. Its pretty awesome. I BBQ'ed last night and had a great dinner. I fell asleep and I couldn't figure out what this hard plastic thing was in bed. I woke up this morning and realized it was a miniature Cinderella toy. So, now I can say I slept with Cinderella.
